Firm adds sparkle to the Lamplight
A creative sponsorship deal is set to provide an extra shine to a night of theatre at the Lamplight Arts Centre in Stanley.
On Friday 15 May, the Lamplight is set to play host to The Missionary’s Position, the true story of ‘the Rector of Stiffkey’. To ensure theatergoers get into the swing of things, Newcastle-based Amanda Baker Soft Furnishings will be dressing the Lamplight Gallery and Bar to complement the venue’s 1930s themed activities.
Amanda said: “It’s a really fun project to get involved in. Working with an arts centre means I can be rather flamboyant with the materials I use - particularly for this show for which we are going to create a bit of a boudoir feel. The Lamplight team will be setting off the look with soft lighting and classic music hall tunes - so I think the audience will have quite an experience.”
Lucy Winstanley, Business Development and Marketing Manager for Leisureworks - the Trust that operates the Lamplight, said: “We’re really pleased Amanda wanted to get involved. It’s so important, especially in this day and age, to treat your customers so they get the most out of their visit, and we’re sure the audience will be pleased with the Lamplight’s temporary new look.”
The play tells the true story of the infamous Harold Davidson - otherwise known as the Rector of Stiffkey - who was de-frocked by the church in the 1930s following alleged fraternisation with prostitutes.
