New female support organisation is open for business
Some of the North East’s most successful businesswomen have joined forces in a bid to drive a female networking organisation to new heights.
A group of female entrepreneurs has taken over former Durham University project Women Into the Network - increasing member benefits and pledging to plough all profits back in to the company.
Its board of directors is made up of Northumberland’s SCM Pharma director and co-owner Fiona Cruickshank and Mailing House Group managing director Jackie Peddie, Newcastle’s Solutions Recruitment managing director Margaret Clare and bgroup creative director Di Gates, Ann Stonehouse, owner of Accountancy @ Willowbank and Co-Efficient Outsourcing in Teesside, and Dinah Bennett of Durham University’s Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning.
Fiona Cruickshank said: “This is the new WIN. We have a new brand, a new concept, a new strategic direction and, very importantly, a board that is absolutely committed to bringing their knowledge and experience to the table to help women in business.
“As well as the previous things members were familiar with, such as networking events and the popular North East Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, we wanted to offer benefits that added real value to women running their own businesses like collective buying and bidding opportunities, really relevant networking events and discounts on products and services.”
