Sporting benefits for North East business people
A North East coach who has worked with Olympic athletes and leading football teams is planning to use his skills to help the region’s business people.
Nick Ward, 38, has devised fitness and conditioning programmes for professional sports men and women in the UK and Canada.
Nick, from Newcastle, has now launched Executive Athlete Programme – a scheme which brings together physical and mental fitness through a two day performance camp and a range of pre- and post-camp events.
Nick said: “Much of the advice that’s out there today about fitness is over-complicated and people are very confused.
“What I want to do is use the same principles that work with top athletes and apply them for busy business people.
“What we’ll do is get back to basics, get people to look at changing their behaviour and building simple habits which will help them.”
Nick also works for the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme, which provides athletes with services including coaching, strength and conditioning, lifestyle support, physiotherapy and sports medicine along with support with competition and training expenses.
The first camp is being held at Newcastle Racecourse in October with a number of pre-camp exercises taking place in the six-week run up to the event.
“What we’re going to offer is a simple, planned programme which will support people to get the basics right to make a big difference to their lives,” said Nick.
More details about EAP and the camps are available by contacting Nick on 07789 006114.
