Race day to launch new fashion fundraiser
A North East race horse owner is heading up a new organisation which aims to raise funds for sports related charities by holding fashion shows at leading courses and grounds around the country.
Fashion For A Good Cause is the brainwave of entrepreneur Brian Morton, who owns 20 race horses, and who is using his love of sport to raise cash for a range of good causes.
His team have already pulled off a coup by securing couture milliner Louis Mariette – who was recently seen on TV as a judge on Britain’s Next Top Model and whose designs are regularly seen at race courses around the country – and will be showcasing some of his work as part of the first fundraising day at Newcastle Racecourse on Monday 31 August.
The event will include shows featuring clothes from Fenwick, Cruise and designer Kate Fearnley along with entertainment, champagne reception, three course dinner and a day’s racing.
The first Fashion For A Good Cause event will be in aid of Metro Radio’s Cash For Kids but plans are already underway for future shows which will benefit sports-related charities.
Brian said: “We think we’ve come up with a great winning formula and for me there was no better place to hold the first event than at a racecourse.
“We are planning a range of spectacular events which will give those who attend a very special day out and at the same time an opportunity to support some really good causes.”
Tickets for the event on August 31 are £100 each and £1000 for a table of ten. Mention bdaily when booking to get a discounted rate of £80 per ticket or £750 for a table.
