Business school offers aid to SMEs
Newcastle Business School at Northumbria University is launching a series of events aimed at enhancing the skills of SME business managers in the region.
The Business Aware Sessions is offering small and medium sized businesses six seminars and networking events to provide them with the platform to improve their business during the recession.
Professor Teresa Waring from Newcastle Business School said: “In the current climate, SMEs may be struggling to survive and managers may have no time to devote to their own development.
“This could have major consequences for the health of the company and the economy in the North East.”
The sessions will give business managers the opportunity to explore issues that face SMEs and participants can chose topics such as marketing, networking skills and selling, which will be delivered by experts in the field.
A previous participant, Nynzi Maung of Maung Consulatancy, said: “These sessions are informative and helpful to those who can benefit from networking with other business people.”
The sessions are free to trading SMEs based in the North East and local entrepreneurs and will take place fortnightly at 6-8pm on Wednesdays starting from 7 October.
