Marketing know-how put to the test
Members of the public are being quizzed on their marketing knowledge in the run-up to a marketing conference taking place in the North East next week.
Marketing: the art of is taking place at The Sage Gateshead on 12 November, and Business Link is using social media to raise the profile of the event and to get people to test their marketing knowledge.
Every day until the event the Marketing: the art of team will be posing a marketing related questions on Linked In, Twitter and via the conference website and the person providing the first correct answer will receive a free ticket for the event.
Julie Spowart, events manager from Business & Enterprise North East, which delivers the Business Link service in the region, said: “The conference is designed to get businesses to think about effective new ways to market themselves helping them gain a competitive edge, so we decided to utilise some of the less traditional marketing channels to engage with the public about the event and to test their marketing awareness.”
Speeches at the event will come from Tim Smit, founder of the Eden Project; Robert Senior, UK chief executive of Saatchi, Saatchi and Fallon (SSF Group); and Chris Lenton, chairman of The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).
