Office supplier branches out
NORTH East office equipment supplier Diamond Business Group has launched its own finance division to help local firms struggling to find credit.
The move continues the East Boldon-based company’s rapid expansion that has seen them diversify from the supply and maintenance of photocopiers and printers into the telecommunications and IT maintenance sectors.
Group managing director John Burns started the company from his bedroom back in 1992 and despite a fire that wrecked his first premises went on to build a successful North East business empire leasing and servicing office equipment.
The move into finance follows complaints from customers who were finding it difficult to fund the purchase of new office equipment and to get cash to help grow their business.
Moving into small business finance follows Diamond Business Group’s move into IT support after buying a small local computer services company in 2008 and the launch of Diamond Communications in 2009 offering mobile and landline services, as well as vehicle tracking.
MD John Burns explains: “Quite simply the banks are still not lending to small business to the level they should be and that is creating problems for many business that need a flexible level of credit to operate effectively.”
