Flying the nest, Hays Director moves to pastures new
HAYS TRAVEL commercial director Jill Gardner is reportedly set to leave the Sunderland based company in May after 12 years service.
Gardner said she handed her notice in mid-November after deciding to look for a fresh challenge after more than a decade with Hays.
She joined the company as finance director after training as an accountant with Ernst & Young and then moved to commercial about eight years ago.
During her time at Hays the company has grown from a turnover of £50m to one of £450m, and she said it had been an exciting experience seeing the company develop.
After Gardner leaves, finance and operations director Sue Jarvis will take on the additional role of commercial director and group sales manager Linda Pyle will head up the Independence Group.
Hays has also appointed new finance director, Scott Hopkinson, who joined this week from heating and renewable energy supplier Eaga.
He was previously finance director of Duncan Bannatyne’s Bannatyne Group.
