Opening date unveiled for brand new deluxe Leeds city centre hotel
On Monday 1st May, the Dakota Deluxe Leeds will officially open.
This new hotel forms a major part of Evans Property Group’s £25m investment into rejuvenating the Bond Court area of Leeds city centre.
Leeds’ newest luxury boutique hotel is the fourth for the independently owned Dakota Group. The project has been spearheaded by Ken McCulloch, who founded Malmaison Hotels, and delivered in partnership with Leeds-based Evans Property Group.
Ken McCulloch said: “It is great being back in Leeds and it’s time that Leeds had a luxury hotel because the city deserves it”.
Situated between Russell and Greek Streets, the hotel was designed by McCulloch’s creative team which was headed by international interior designer Amanda Rosa.
He added: “The majority of time spent working away from home is always grudged and so we wanted to create a very special experience.”
Dakota Deluxe introduces old-world hospitality to the business and leisure guest.
Dakota also features a new the Bar & Grill, which comprises a classically inspired menu with a collection of simple dishes prepared with an emphasis on fresh quality produce in a brasserie-style destination.
The hotel opening will also see the first unveiling of Salon Privé, an exclusive cocktail bar with a first-floor terrace overlooking Greek Street.
Additionally, extensive public realm and landscaping works amounting to around £1m have been undertaken in the Bond Court area, working with Leeds City Council to create a new destination.
Roderick Evans, managing director of Evans Property Group, commented: “Having worked with Dakota for over a decade now, we have formed a strong relationship and we are incredibly excited to be launching this destination hotel in our home city.”
