New QPR signing helping to drive season ticket sales for 2017/18

Championship football club Queen’s Park Rangers have unveiled a new signing that has helped to drive season ticket uptake at Loftus Road.

The London club recently signed up Runcorn-based First Capital Cashflow to manage Direct Debit payments from its season ticket holders, replacing its previous arrangement which saw supporters’ financing their season tickets through a third-party lender and facing interest charges of over 16%.

The partnership with the North West payment processing bureau meant the club could start offering Direct Debits for the first time in its history and now QPR are claiming to have seen a 40% increase in fans opting to pay for their season ticket via installments compared to the previous financing arrangement.

Euan Inglis, Commercial Director at QPR, claimed that the new partnership had helped to drive a year-on-year increase in its season ticket sales and that the interest free finance option had been ‘very well received’.

He said: “Year-on-year our season ticket uptake has continued to rise and I am positive that the introduction of Direct Debit as a payment method will see these figures increase even further.

“Following the successful introduction of Direct Debit for the 2017/18 season, we are delighted to also announce the launch of the 2017/18 Membership Direct Debit option which automatically opts supporters in for seasonal renewal.

“This allows members to spread the cost of membership across a period of time, without interest charges.”

In partnering with First Capital Cashflow, QPR became one of the first Championship clubs in the country to offer Direct Debit payments for season tickets, a move which First Capital’s commercial director, Helen Priestman, said had helped to significantly boost revenue at the club.

She commented: “QPR were new to Direct Debit when they were introduced to First Capital Cashflow. We could provide the club with sponsorship into the Bacs Direct Debit scheme, supplying a unique fully branded service.

“We are absolutely delighted to establish this mutually beneficial relationship, which has seen a significant rise in QPR’s revenue.”
