Treske's kitchens shortlisted for a major honour in the Northern Design Awards

Treske, the Thirsk-based manufacturer of high-quality kitchens and furniture, has been shortlisted for a major honour in the prestigious Northern Design Awards.

The company has been named as a finalist in the competitive Kitchen Retailer category.

The awards ceremony will be held at the Principal Hotel in Manchester on Friday November 24 and will be attended by hundreds of the North’s leading designers, architects, retailers and industry experts.

Justin Bartlett, the owner and managing director of Treske, explained: “We are absolutely delighted that the quality of our kitchens has been recognized in these very prestigious awards. We are constantly striving to create perfect kitchens, fit for the 21st century and fulfilling our customers’ dreams – and being shortlisted in the Northern Design Awards is a very welcome endorsement from our peers.

“Since Treske was founded 45 years ago, we have established a formidable reputation as respected designers, makers and suppliers of bespoke traditional and modern kitchens. Our kitchens are manufactured in beautiful natural hardwoods by skilled craftsmen before being delivered and installed to homes throughout Yorkshire and the north of England.”

In its submission to the awards, Treske discussed five of its state-of-the-art kitchens, including The Westwood Kitchen, which was recently featured in the Sunday Times; the brand-new Harrogate Kitchen, which was unveiled at this month’s Homebuilding and Renovating Show in Harrogate; and a high-quality painted oak kitchen for a South Yorkshire family.

Justin Bartlett explained: “We believe these kitchens highlight our strengths in high-quality design and manufacture, allied to a clear understanding of exactly what our customers want. They have been very well-received.”

Treske originally developed ranges of hardwood kitchens in Oak, Cherry, Ash and Maple. Over the last ten years the kitchen market has become dominated by painted kitchen furniture.

Mr Bartlett commented: “As a result of this, Treske have changed our designs to suit. However, rather than fully painted kitchens, we have instead blended the beauty of natural timber together with paint to create a unique style with which we are now associated. Clients now seek us out for this special combination of materials.

“The Treske design team have been strengthened through the addition of a third kitchen designer who is sponsored by Treske on the new Kitchen Design course at Bucks New University. This course is led by industry leaders and recognised designers Johnny Grey and Craig Matson,” he added.

Treske’s kitchen clientele are from the residential, middle to higher end of the market. The kitchen design service runs throughout the entire process with the client from brief, design and manufacture to installation. Doing this in-house ensures that the process runs as smoothly as possible with as little interruption to the clients’ daily life as possible. This service has gained Treske numerous 5-star reviews on social media site Houzz.
