Sitecore has been chosen by AccorHotels to redesign its website, AccorHotels.group

Sitecore, a worldwide leader in customer experience management software, has been chosen by AccorHotels to totally redesign its corporate website, powered by the Sitecore Experience Platform, hosted in the Microsoft Azure Cloud. The aim of this investment is to a bring about a single identity, a unique character, and a bold, modern vision for the group’s diverse brands.

AccorHotels has a presence in 95 countries, with 4,200 venues ranging from the budget hotel end of the spectrum to the luxury segment, with 250,000 employees on 5 continents.

“We chose Sitecore because its integrated solution provided the best fit for our requirements. Sitecore has proven fully capable of providing decentralized management of our content, and fulfilling our technical requirements in terms of performance and security, critical given that our website is cloud-hosted,” said Christophe Cazard, Digital Media Director of AccorHotels.

The website’s design approach is “Mobile First”, meaning the new site is capable of adapting dynamically to usage across different devices and channels. This puts it at the heart of AccorHotels’ communications strategy. AccorHotels Group paid particular attention to meeting accessibility standards, with a view to allowing all members of the public, including those with visual-impairments, to browse the website with ease.

For the technical integration of the platform, Sitecore called upon the services of its partner Atos, the international leader in digital transformation. It was selected because of its ability to act as an integrator for the entire chain, providing a single contact point for AccorHotels: technical implementation, application maintenance, roll-out and complete managed services with 24/7 automated server supervision in the Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure.

As regards the website front-end, the new design of the AccorHotels corporate website (the result of a collaboration with the Publicis agency) has been totally reviewed, with a catalog of new visual components fully integrated into the Sitecore implementation. This has delivered rich visuals, a much-improved user experience with dynamic location mapping carousels, video media content etc., and new functionality that contribute to giving the AccorHotels brand greater clarity. These features include brand comparison, social network content integration, stock market changes, dynamic metering of group employment opportunities, an innovative graphical navigation system (for its desktop version), and so on. Naturally, all of these services are available in a mobile environment, with a customized interface providing the same level of information as is found in the desktop version.

And the changes bring benefits for back office users of the website too. They now have a powerful tool, one that gives them autonomy to carry out the editorial changes they need to make on a daily basis with ease.
