New Caviar Bar set to open in Mayfair’s Hanover Square

Specialist UK leisure property agency, Shelley Sandzer, has acted on behalf of landlord GPE to secure a debut site for The Caviar Bar, the luxury dining experience synonymous with exceptional caviar and seafood, at Medici Courtyard in Mayfair’s Hanover Square.

The Caviar Bar will deliver a day-to-night, luxurious dining experience. It will also incorporate a retail element, so visitors can enjoy the produce within the restaurant’s opulent interior, or purchase it as gifts or to be enjoyed off-site.

The interior has been designed in-house with a focus on onyx and mirrors for a luxury feel throughout, with the bar serving as the centrepiece within the space.

The Caviar Bar is set to join the landmark mixed-use development later this year, within a 700 sq ft unit with a mezzanine, fronting onto the 8,400 sq ft Medici Courtyard, one of the first public courtyards to open in Mayfair for more than a century.

It forms part of the wider Hanover development, led by GPE and delivered as part of the Crossrail project, encompassing over 200,000 sq ft of offices, apartments, and retail space, between the revitalised Hanover Square and luxury boulevard New Bond Street.

Andrea Secchi, head of operations for The Caviar Bar, said: “The Caviar Bar will be a fantastic addition to the neighbourhood of Mayfair and will bring something unique and distinctive to Medici Courtyard.

“It has been specifically designed to create a special experience for the people who live in, work in, and visit the neighbourhood, with a day-to-night offer and quality in both taste and service. We’re looking forward to opening later this year and bringing our authentic, reasonably priced caviar to this prime West End location.”

Sarah Goldman, head of retail at GPE, added: “Having The Caviar Bar as the latest retailer to choose our prestigious Hanover development truly brings to life GPE’s vision of establishing the Medici Courtyard as a luxury destination.

“The food and drink store compliments the other retail offerings, including The Maine restaurant, WatchHouse coffee house, as well as fashion retailers Bang & Olufsen, Canali, Pronovias, Opera Gallery, Seiko and Moyses Stevens. We’re excited for the continued growth of the luxury sector in London’s West End, particularly how elevated experiences are driving spend in the area. “

Ted Schama, joint managing partner at Shelley Sandzer, who acted on behalf of GPE in the deal, added: “It has been great to work alongside GPE in securing The Caviar Bar’s debut concept.

“Not only does it radiate class and luxury, but it embodies the very essence of Mayfair and will fit seamlessly with the surrounding tenants, as well as being situated in an accessible, high footfall area for commuters and tourists, with the Elizabeth Line a stone’s throw away. As experts in the field, we know exactly what kind of concepts will thrive and where, and look forward to watching this concept come to life.”

This follows the news that Shelley Sandzer has acted for Cain International on Sticky Mango’s third location, at Islington Square, as well as securing a flagship site for the plant-based concept, Holy Carrot, at 156 Portobello Road in an off-market deal.
